In the name of Allah, the most gracious and the most merciful,
The Canaanites and their tribes came from the Arabian peninsula a long time ago, and they lived in Palestine, which was called the land of Canaan before it was named Palestine, they built many cities that were famous for their trade and one of those famous cities was the city of jimzu/gimzo, which has been called by this name since ancient times, the era of the Canaanites. Neither its name nor its (diction, spelling, pronunciation) has ever changed even till our modern days, even though some of the other cities that the Canaanites had built had had their names or pronanounciation changed, and some have been lost all together (and no trace has been left in these past centuries), even the city of Hadid which is now known as al haditha village (in ramala), and A’na (3ana) as in kafr A’na, and dajan as in bayt dajan (and tha3leem/ Ta3leem As in the land of foxes) and ibn awa as in the village of salbit and the city of jazar now called abu shusha, and beit a’ar (3ar) al (3olya) (the upper) and Beit Aar (3ar) al sufla (the lower) now known as beit ur al-tahta (the lower ) and Beit Ur al fauqa (the upper) and our city jimzu (gimzo) was mentioned in the book of the Torah during the reign of king Ahaz, a list of 118 cities from the age of the Canaanites inscribed in the temple of Karnak in upper Egypt when Thutmose the third occupied Palestine from 1447 ad till 1501 ad , and the name of the city of Jimzu is mentioned in that temple.
(our village jizmu)
Jimzu is a Palestinian arabian village, of canannite origin; immortalized by history and inhabited by generations and tribes and nations, and has witnessed many civilizations and peoples during the previous ages, and as they became extinct it was inhabited by many tribes such as the Canaanites and the (Jebusites) and the Arameans and the Edomites and after them came the Philistines (Palestinians) from past nations, and it was traded by many tribes who tore it down and rebuilt it many times and it fluctuated over time; and jizmu remained standing tall, proud of its people all of these past years and previous centuries and jimzu was one of the most important Canaanite trade cities because of its strategic location because it falls on the first coastal plain of the mountain which makes it of great importance (elevated its importance) because its linked to many trade routes with other cities, regions and foreign countries, where the Canaanites were interested in trade with outside and inside the region and Jimzu was a commercial center for them, where trade caravans passed through the roads linking Jimzu to the jerusalem mountains region, Ramallah, the Hebrom Mountians region, from the notheren regions to the southern ones to gaza, Aklan and Ashdod (asdud), where it was mentioned in the book of the Torah where a battle took place near by that was named tha battle of Jimzu, mentioned in chapter 28 page 721 in the age of king Ahaz as mentioned in the Torah “At that time, King Ahaz sent to the kings of Assyria to aid him. Also Edomites came, and they slew of Judah and captured captives. And Philistines raided the cities of the lowlands and the southland of Judah, and they captured Beth Shemesh and Ajalon and Gederoth and Socho and its villages and Timnah and its villages, and Gimzo and its villages and they dwelt there.” (chronicles II 28:16-18, standard Masoretic text), where history and historians have mentioned its name (Gimzo) with another 118 one hundred and eighteen cities that were discovered In the Temple of Karnak in Upper Egypt from the age of the Pharaohs and it's possible it's one of the cities that was conquered by Thutmose the Third from the year 1447 to the year 1501 ad and the name gimzo is still here till now and it's one of the oldest mansions of the Cities which points to the importance of these Canaanite cities that were mentioned and a lot of these cities Kept their original names whereas some other cities have their names changed either completely or partially and some of them have disappeared from the world however gimzo kept its name until today and it's pronounced as it was pronounced previously gimzo an original Canaanite name that was Given to the city when it was built By the Canaanites, and it was given that name gimzo because of the abundance of Sycamore fig trees that was surrounding it from all sides in the age of the Canaanites and in previous ages however in our Modern Age no sycamore trees are left in the region and it's possible that it went extinct and disappeared and past centuries because Sycamore fig trees don't establish longer Roots like olive trees or spruce trees and the Sycamore is like the blank trees because they Do not last long but grow old and disappear, and it was said in some stories from the Roman era that A priest Named gimso was living there and so the area was named gimso after him but that is not true because gimzo was given that name by the Canaanites Preceding the Romans by 4,000 years or more in the age of the Canaanites and it was mentioned in the Torah and by the Pharaohs and there were a lot of sycamore trees in the city of allah and al-ramleh Where they would bring it and sell it in the village And it was mentioned by historians about the cities and Palestine and other cities and they were writing down who occupied gimzo and its cities.
